Akane: RUBIA Leopard’s Daybreak RubiRadio.

[sfx: radio jingle ends]

Akane: Your host today is me, Akane from RUBIA Leopard. Last week, we were busy with concerts, and the week before that I was on holiday… Ah, it’s been three whole weeks? I guess it’s been quite a while, huh? Anyways, you already know what we’re here about – RUBIA Leopard’s biggest tour ever, with 11 successful performances. Thanks for coming to see us. For those of you who didn’t make it, we’ll be sure to catch you at the next one.

Now, I said today I was going to talk about different memories from the tour, but if I started I’d never stop so I’ll only choose one. Well, you probably know already, since it’s been all over the news, but on the last day of the tour we had some real heavy rain. You’re probably wondering
how heavy – you couldn’t even see what’s in front of you kind of heavy. It only took seconds and I was drenched down to my underwear. Anyways, the first bolt of lightning struck, and that’s all it took for our power to go out, leaving us totally screwed – both the band and all the staff were pale with horror. And then there’s me, bursting out laughing like some kind of demon… Well, we managed to pull things together and held a special ‘unplugged’ performance to kill time. Since the probability of securing tickets was so low, there are a lot of you who didn’t get to see it, right? And I’m sure you wish you had. On that note! A recording of that final performance will be included as a pre-order bonus for our first printing of the limited edition album!

[sfx: Akane clapping]

Akane: The staff were using handheld cameras, and when we got power back online we were miraculously able to set the center camera up to record that legendary day. You’ll be able to see my magical abilities there, so please give a watch and enjoy. Right, let’s leave it there for now and move on to the request corner. We’re doing things a little differently today – instead of hearing the listeners’ requests, you’re getting mine. This song’s from a band who only recently debuted under our talent agency, making them my kouhais [1]. I’ve gotten permission to give you guys a listen before it releases, so listen close. This is Impish Crow, RISE.

[sfx: door closing, footsteps]

Iwahara: Nice work.

Akane: Iwahara-san, you’re here.

Iwahara: Your voice doesn’t sound too bad after all, huh.

Akane: Right? I’m an idiot, idiots don’t get colds. Plus, even now I’m still feeling all fired up from the live.

Iwahara: You do seem awfully motivated.

Akane: And who’s fault is that, you schemer?

Iwahara: Whatever could you mean?

Akane: With what you pulled at the live, and that USB stick.

Iwahara: You can’t blame me for the rain, surely! As much as I’d like to be, I’m not a sorcerer. As for the USB… Well, I’m just happy you’re happy.

Akane: Now that we’ve found an opponent really worth fighting against, we’ve decided to go pro,’ was it? Well, it was a real cute show they put on there… did you bring these guys in just so we’d have someone to fight?

Iwahara: Don’t make it sound like I’m a villain! Debuting them wasn’t my call. Actually, It was Tobikura who picked them up.

Akane: Tobikura-san’s… that guy working under you, right?

Iwahara: He was originally. But, recently he’s been doing some great work on his own too. He even told me directly. He said ‘someday, Inkuro will surpass Rubire.’ If you’re not careful, there’s a chance they’ll catch you off guard and do just that.

Akane: I think that’s the first time I’ve heard you praise someone like that.

Iwahara: Where are you getting this idea that I’m such a mean person?

Akane: It’s your own fault, right? What kind of reward is this, trying to start a rivalry?

Iwahara: I am your manager, after all. Managing the emotional state of my talents is just another part of my job.

Akane: Maybe you ought to stop working so hard.

[sfx: Akane standing]

Akane: (sighing) Ah, whatever. It’ll be good fun, if anything. No way I’m stopping now.

[sfx: footsteps]

Akane: (to himself) Surpass us, huh…? That ain’t bad. It’ll be fun watching those baby chicks grow up.

[1] Keeping senpai/kouhai as they are in these translations because I fee like senior/junior doesn't convey the right nuances, especially for the bands.
